Craft sale at Walmart

Empower Educate Team selling home made crafts and paintings at Walmart Evergreen Craft fair
On July 22nd, the Evergreen Neighborhood Walmart held a craft fair.
Empower Educate Youth took this opportunity to spread the message about importance of female hygiene by participating in this event.
Roma Kidambi, Founder and President of Empower Educate Youth planned, helped and facilitated to set up a booth for EEY at the Craft fair in the Evergreen Neighborhood Walmart.
Lots of planning and hard work went into what items could be sold at the craft fair. After several discussions, Roma encouraged the team to come up with some unique ideas like handmade crafts and paintings that can be sold at the craft fair. Medha Kidambi, Chapter President of Chaboya middle school took special interest and took the lead to measure the progress of the items getting made. Medha tirelessly hand-made some coaster sets with wool. Kacey and Anika came up with hand-made bracelets and Roma Kidambi decided to sell some of the paintings she made.

On the event day, all the handmade items - Coaster sets, paintings, bracelets were showcased along with some old novels and books. Esha Kidambi (Vice President of EEY) helped to market and network to bring as many people to the booth as well as helped in spreading the awareness of the female hygiene and the role of EEY in this great cause.
This was a great experience for all of the EEY members, as we were so proud and excited that our hard work resulted in a good fundraising effort for our organization. We fundraised a grand total of $192 for the organization through this craft fair. Thank you so much Lily and Martha of Walmart Neighborhood market for giving us this opportunity to hold our booth at the craft fair.
With this money we hope to buy menstrual hygiene supplies for many more young women in schools and shelters around the world and help them get the education they deserve!
