Pad Party

On February 28, 2018, Empower Educate Youth partnered with the Women’s Advocacy Club at Presentation High School in San Jose, CA, to fundraise money and sanitary goods for women without access. Women’s Advocacy Club is focused on clarifying injustices suffered by women worldwide and works to educate young women about intersectional feminism.

Empower Educate Youth sponsored a showing of Wonder Woman to motivate students to donate either money or packages of sanitary goods as an admission ticket to the movie. Empower Educate Youth took this opportunity to convey the importance of sanitation and lack of access to hygiene supplies as a barrier to education. After learning more about women who were less fortunate, many students were driven and very motivated to spread awareness and raise money for this cause.

With the help of the Women’s Advocacy Club, EEY helped collect fifty boxes of pads and tampons, and raise over $100 from this event. Delivering to Pajaro Valley Shelter Services in Watsonville and Littlewood Primary School in Cape Town, EEY granted hundreds of girls the opportunity to further their education.
